On the morning of Wednesday 8th December a disturbance occurred on the Legon campus. A number of first year students decided to march to the Registrar’s Offices to demand immediate payment of Government loans for their upkeep. The incident involved force and threats of violence to persons in disch-rge of their duties and University property. The Executive Committee of the Academic Board has appointed & committee to investigate all aspects of the incident. The public will be duly informed of the outcome of the investigation.
