There are all indications that the old hands may try to twist the government’s arms to submission and allow kalabuleism and corruption to thrive again when the AFRC is gone. This is confirmed by some of the businessmen who have withdrawn quietly. These businessmen who otherwise are loquacious are bidding their time to come out with full force when the AFRC is gone by October 1. It has it that they shall soon be back to kalabule by all means when the AFRC is gone. 

If it is conjectured that the civilian government can and will bow to the weight of corruption in the near future we must have reliable forces and put them on their guard to take up the fight once more. 

What the AFRC under Fit-Lt. Jerry J. Rawlings has done is but a witness to what students power could have done too if they were of the armed category. The AFRC has put into reality the dreams dreamt by students: dreams the ordinary man could not support because he did not understand them. 

Notwithstanding, the students have gone into excesses and we hope that the student body will institute a self-correcting system to check their excesses in order to maintain the tempo of a justified revolution. So, let students as from now organise themselves for the next combat, which it is sure will come, with more vigour as the kalabuleists are threatening to resurface. 

What is student power? It is the legitimate power carried over by all students against inimical groups on behalf of the poor and the downtrodden. If ever there must be created a fair society where everybody has a place to live in peace, and has the opportunities to use his capabilities to live honestly, then there is no other more powerful and influential group that is very sympathetic with the cause of the poor than the students. 

To the student body our attention is addressed and to them we caution neutral behaviour in the majority’s interest in the nation. This body will be infiltrated by financiers to break it up in order to make nonsense of any agitations planned for the future. To the student body too we address ourselves again to ask them for unflinching solidarity and steadfast pursuit of aims that augur well for the welfare of the whole society but not for a few. Let reasonable reasons guide their steps. 

To the students we say that they must brace themselves up ready for action and not be overtaken by events. If students should lull in their achievements now they will be asleep when the AFRC is gone and their failure. achievements will be reversed to
