The National Union of Ghana Students has congratulated Dr Kwame Nkrumah on the successful launching of the Development Plan. In a message signed by Miss Rebecca B. Ellimah, vice of the Internal Affairs Committee, the students said:

“This plan is in conformity with the socialist aspiration of Ghana and an important step towards the achievement…” 

The message expressed the willingness and readiness of the union to help in the implementation of the plan. They also assured the Government and the people that Ghanaian students were filled with a fervent desire to contribute their quota to the national welfare. “The plan is a challenge to the people of Ghana”, the message students noted,  “and we do it whole-heartedly.”

Hard Work

It added: “We are determined, through hard work,  to make available to the people of Ghana the fruits tof people of their labours in appreciation of the many sacrifices they have made on students behalf. In a similar message to Osagyefo, the student representative council at the University of Ghana conveyed congratulations to the Chancellor of the two universities and pledged their utmost co-operation in making the plan a resounding success.
