STUDENTS IN GHANA’S UNIVERSITIES
I have to inform you that it was reported at the National Redemption Council meeting held on 4th April, 1973, that some politicians were infiltrating the three Universities and were attempting to instigate some students to cause disorder. In this connection, it was mentioned that
(a) trouble was brewing between the Vice- Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and students of that University;
(b) some students of the University of Ghana intended to demonstrate against the authorities during the last Congregation but the trouble was nipped in the bud.
- After consideration, it was decided that the Commissioner for NRC Affairs and the Commissioner for Education, Culture and Sports should look into the affairs of the students of the three Universities in order to forestall any disorder.
- I should be grateful if you would take note of above for appropriate action.
