LEGON, Accra.

A partial “victory parade” was organised here recently through the principal streets of the University of Ghana by over 3,000 students to end a week-long activities which welcomed the gallant students who sacrificed their time and life in fighting Gen. Acheampong, former Head of State and Chairman of the SMC, and his so called “God inspired” theory of Union Government, back to campus.

The jubilant students who carried large placards and pictures of Gen. Acheampong, some of which read: “The Victory is Partially Won; Kutu – Ghana’s Woe Is Gone Forever; We Shall Surely Overcome; Beware, Monarch, For A Similar Fate Awaits All Wrong-doers; and Make Ghana A Better Place To Live In” ended their procession at the main- entrance of the University where libation was poured to mark the end of General Acheampong.

Later, during a victory dance in the evening, a spokesman for the Students’ Entertainment Committee of the SRC, expressed sincere gratitude to all those whose efforts made it possible for their return to campus and particularly to the university authorities who stood up with them when the fight became difficult.
